The American Land Title Association confirmed today that Richard Cordray, director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, is stepping down at the end of the month. As you will recall, CFPB enforces RESPA compliance. Currently, CFPB leadership is held by a single director. In order to change to a bipartisan independent commission it would take Congressional action. We will keep you updated on the new director once announced.
