Several counties have issued real estate tax bills. Please remind your Sellers that once the tax bill is issued by the county, the tax becomes a lien against the property which must be paid at or before closing. Even if your Seller escrowed for taxes and their lender confirms the money was sent to the county for payment, the closing attorney will have to collect the tax bill at closing unless the county records show the tax bill as “paid.”
Here are the counties that have already issued tax bills. The remaining counties will issue their tax bills shortly.
